How Demetrix handles personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Demetrix (Demetron, Krasis and Rhiza) is a precision agriculture business in the Western Cape, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the information described here. Our information officer can be reached at hello@example.com.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, farm or company name and the message you send us.
- Room builder: the room size, equipment choices and design you configure. The calculations run in your browser; we receive the design only if you send it to us or buy a design package.
- Orders and quotes: delivery and billing details, and payment confirmation from our payment provider. We do not see or store your card number.
- Technical data: our host may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested).
Why we use it
To answer enquiries, prepare design packages and quotes, supply and deliver products, invoice and keep tax records, and keep the site secure. We send marketing only where you ask to join a list, and every message will let you opt out.
Who we share it with
Only operators we need: our website host, email provider, payment provider, courier, and installation or equipment partners on a job you have asked us to quote. They may use your information only for that purpose. Some of these providers store data outside South Africa; we use providers that protect information to a comparable standard.
Fonts and third-party code
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and the room builder loads its calculation engine (Pyodide) from the jsDelivr network. Those services receive your IP address when the page loads. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
Enquiries for up to 24 months after the last contact. Orders, quotes and invoices for five years, as tax law requires. Then we delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold on you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you may object to marketing at any time. Email us at the address above. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
We keep reasonable technical and organisational safeguards over personal information and will notify you and the Regulator of a breach as POPIA requires.

We will update this notice here and change the date above.
